Brief summary of research interests and relevance to IDDI am interested in the neural mechanisms underlying social behaviors. The ability to engage in and interpret social behaviors is fundamental to many organisms' physical and psychological well-being. Social impairments are associated with neurodevelopmental, neuropsychiatric, and neurodegenerative disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) schizophrenia, and Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, many neurodevelopmental disorders display clear sex biases in presentation and progression. I am interested in what the underlying mechanisms for this discrepancy.
