Research in my laboratory focuses on sensorineural deafness and inner ear development. The goals of our ongoing projects are to identify and functionally characterize transcription factors that are necessary for the development of sensory cells in the hearing organ. Our long-term goal is to formulate a mix of transcription factor that is suitable to induce regeneration of sensory cells as a therapy to certain types of hearing loss.
